Beni Suef is a city on the west bank of the Nile River in Egypt, which serves as the capital of Beni Suef Governorate. Once a small village known for its production of flax in the Middle Ages, it later became famous for cotton spinning and carpet weaving, and has now developed into an important cultural center in Egypt.
Beni Suef is renowned for its large mansions, with the most notable one being the Ismaili House. Additionally, it is home to Beni Suef University and the private Al-Nahda University. The city boasts two magnificent mosques, namely the Beni Suef Al Azez Mosque and the Al-Seddeq Mosque, and visitors can also explore the Beni Suef Museum.
