The architectural style of Ta Prohm temple is similar to that of Bayon temple, except without the smiling faces. Angkor Wat is magnificent, Bayon temple is gloomy; both belong to the gods, devoid of any earthly demeanor. They come alive with the involvement of living beings. The entire temple is surrounded by gigantic trees, with their dense roots resembling giant pythons, tightly gripping onto everything they can reach, entwining with the ancient temple for centuries until they become one. Discovered by the French in the 19th century, the century-old trees had already ensnared the temple, leading to the decision to abandon restoration efforts and preserve its original state. The roots brazenly continue to extend, wrapping around the eaves, penetrating the gaps in the stone, securely enveloping the old temple. It is almost tempting to believe that the temple sprouted from the roots, and then they entwined around it. Just like that, entwined.
