Swakopmund is a port city located on the Atlantic coast in the western part of Namibia, 280 kilometers west of Windhoek and 33 kilometers north of Walvis Bay. It is the capital of the Erongo Region. Founded by the Germans in 1892, Swakopmund was the center of German colonial rule in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The entire city was designed and built in the German architectural style, and to this day the streets still retain German names.
Swakopmund is a famous seaside resort in Namibia, known as the “summer capital”, surrounded by pristine beaches and a variety of resorts. Here, as you gently descend with a parachute, you will experience an unprecedented visual and psychological impact: on one side is the vast Atlantic Ocean, on the other side are awe-inspiring sand dunes. After landing, you can play a few rounds of golf; the nearby Rossmund Golf Course is one of the few all-grass courses in the world located in a desert. You can also enjoy the beautiful and spectacular views of the Namib Desert sand dunes, as well as the colorful marine fish in the National Marine Aquarium. Swakopmund’s nightlife is also very vibrant, with exciting casinos and trendy clubs offering a wide range of nightlife options for guests.
