The Crystal Gallery is located in the coastal city of Swakopmund, Namibia. Swakopmund is known as the “Jewel of the Coast,” and in this beautiful city with many houses built in European architectural style, there is a very famous Crystal Gallery. Every tourist visiting the city must visit this museum to feast their eyes.

Why is this not-so-large museum so famous and attractive to tourists? Of course, it is closely related to the wide variety of crystals and other gemstones on display in the gallery, which are dazzling and eye-catching. However, the most attractive and irresistible exhibit is undoubtedly a huge crystal displayed in the lower hall of the museum. This crystal, not only the centerpiece of the museum but also the national treasure of Namibia, is clustered in shape with a yellowish tinge of light red, standing approximately 3 meters tall. It is so massive that it takes five or six people holding hands to surround it with outstretched arms, weighing 14.1 tons, making it the largest crystal ever discovered in the world.

According to experts, this crystal was formed around 500 million years ago and was discovered in the outskirts of Karibib City in the Erongo Region of Namibia in 1985. Since the discovery of this world’s largest national treasure in the outskirts of Karibib City, the once obscure town has gained great reputation. Visitors from both domestic and foreign countries who have been to the Crystal Gallery all know that Karibib City has nurtured the world’s largest crystal.
