Kafr el-Sheikh is a city in the northeast of Egypt, located in the Nile Delta region of Lower Egypt. It is the capital of Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate and is 134 kilometers away from the capital, Cairo.
Kafr el-Sheikh is home to numerous factories and is also the location of Kafr el-Sheikh University. This city has been the birthplace of several prominent figures, including former Egyptian Prime Minister Saad Zaghloul, Egyptian chemist and expert in femtochemistry Ahmed Zewail, and Egyptian politician Sabahi.
