The Jokhang Mosque, also known as the “Alavian Mosque”, was built in the 10th century AD. Inside the mosque, there is a crescent-shaped archway, with a series of 11 semi-circular arches connected together forming a cloister, with the central arch being wider. The walls, archways, and pillars are decorated with different geometric patterns. Its pulpit and a wooden door are particularly unique. Both items are exquisite woodcarvings with high artistic value. On the pulpit, there is an inscription in the Naskh calligraphy style, donated by Jamal al-Din Malik Taj al-Juqr in the year 1311 AD.
