Sittwe is located on the northern coast of the Bay of Bengal in western Myanmar, at the mouth of the Kaladan River. It is the capital of Rakhine State in Myanmar and the largest city and seaport along the coast of the Bay of Bengal.
Sittwe is a rapidly developing tourist city. The observation point at the end of Strand Road is the most famous attraction in the area, consisting of a main deck, an ancient lookout tower, and part of Sittwe Beach. Here, you can enjoy the natural scenery along the Bay of Bengal and see the distant sails dotting the sea surface.
